- He was King of the Picts (Northern and Eastern Scotland) from 852-877). His reign saw a rise in invasions from the Vikings based in Ireland, Northumbria and northern Britain. Constantine died in one of those raids and was buried on the island of Iona in the Inner Hebrides.
