    SUICIDES YESTERDAY
A Highly Esteemed Hollister Woman Takes Poison
HOLLISTER, March 20. - Mrs. R.E. Shore, wife of an ex-Supervisor of this county, committed suicide at her home last night at San Felipe by taking strychnine. The deceased returned the night before from Milpitas, where she had lost much sleep and had been overfatigued in waiting upon her sick mother. She was driven to her home with her husband and brother, and the former suspicious that she might attempt suicide on account of her mental condition, took the precaution to remove, as he thought, all poison from her reach.
At 2 o'clock she rose from her bed, left the room for a few moments and on returning told her husband she had taken poison. In twenty minutes she was dead. Mrs. Shore was one of the most esteemed ladies in the county, and the news of her death and the manner of it was a great shock to the community.
