      Before me the notary Adrianus Petrus de Lange in the law district of Alkmaar in the province of North Holland appeared the honorable Adriaan van Daalen, "ridder van de orde van de Nederlandsche Leeuw" (this means he had been decorated with a medal by the king in the "order of the lion"), captain in the Dutch Navy and his wife Helena den Berger, who are living in the Langestraat in the town of Alkmaar. They have been required by the government to give their consent in the planned marriage of their son Adriaan Frans van Daalen, lieutenant in the navy, at the moment on his majesty's Korvet Hypomenus, which is in the West Indies to miss Jane van der Meulen, about twenty two years of age, living without occupation in Curaçao in the West Indies in order that the marriage can take place.

      Done and passed in Alkmaar in the mentioned house of the couple today on september 6th, 1832. And have both and the notary after reading the paper in presence signed the original which shall stay in the files of notary de Lange, already mentioned.
      Was signed by A. van Daalen, H. den Berger. S.A. de Moraaz, notary, A.P. de Lange, notary copy and registration, registered in Alkmaar the 7th of September 1832, part 29, page 184 recto, part one, received 80 cents for registration, totaling with the 38 cent, 1 guilder and 10 and a half cents, the accountant signed de Crane handed over for copying A. de Lange, notary seen for legalization for the signature of Mr. A.P. de Lange, public notaryu in Alkmaar by us president of the court of law in Alkmaar on September 8th, 1832
